About 3 or 4 of them have built nests in the trees around my collage's Friendship Bridge which crosses a large man-made pond. In my freshmen year, when I lived in the dorms, I would throw the crusts of the pizza I had for dinner to the fishes in the pond; Eventually the night herons began to associate my presence with increased activity from the fish and would fly down to the water's edge whenever they saw me in order to catch their own dinner.
